- Chicken (cut into big pieces) - 2lbs,
- Tomatoes - 3nos,
- Dry red chillies - 10 nos,
- Black pepper - 2 tbs,
- Coriander seed - 2 tsp,
- Jeera (cumin seed) - ½ tsp,
- Poppy seed - 2 tbs,
- Cloves - 5 nos,
- Saumf - 1 tsp,
- Oil - 5 tsp,
- Onion - 3 nos chopped,
- Curry leaves - 2,
- Cinnamon stick - 1 inch,
- Ginger - 1 inch chopped,
- Garlic - 3 cloves,
- Water - 1 ½ cup
| Preparation Method |
- Put 2 tbs of oil in a frying pan and lightly roast the chili, coriander, jeera, saumf, cloves. black pepper and poppy seed.
- Grind it into a coarse paste.
- Put rest of the oil in a cooking pot and sauté the onion with cinnamon stick, curry leaves and garlic.
- Sauté for 5 minutes, add chopped tomato and the masala paste.
- Fry for another 7 minutes. Add chicken pieces and 1 1/2 cups of water and cook till the chicken becomes tender and should be covered with the masala
