Ingredients |
- Aval (beaten rice) - 1 cup
- milk - 3 cups
- sugar - 1/2 cup
- ghee - 2tbsp
- cashew nuts - 1 tbsp
- raisins - 2 tbsp
- small cardamoms (white) - 4-5
- saffron - few strands

Preparation Method |
- Heat the ghee, fry the nuts and raisins in it and remove. TO the sames ghee add the aval, and fry to a light brown.
- Add the milk and saffron, and cook for a while. Add the sugar, and keep cooking and stirring all the time on low heat until the payasam is thick and creamy.
- Remove from fire. Add the powdered cardamom, fried nuts and raisins. Serve either hot or chilled.
