Rasam is one of my all time favorite recipe especially when it is a rainy day. My dad used to have this hot rasam as soup whenever my mother used to make it. It took me a while to make a perfect rasam as it is all about the quantity of pepper, tomatoes and tamarind. |

Ingredients |
- Tomato 3
- Chilly powder ½ teaspoon
- Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
- Pepper powder 1½ teaspoon
- Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon
- Garlic 4
- Oil 1 tablespoon
- Dry red chilly 2
- Mustard seeds ½ teaspoon
- Curry leaves 1 stem
- Coriander leaves ½ cup
- Salt As required
- Asafoetida (Kayam) ½ teaspoon

Preparation Method |
- Cut tomatoes to small pieces, add water and bring to boil.
- To this add all the powders and garlic and bring to boil.
- Splutter mustard seeds in oil, add dry red chilly and curry leaves.
- Add boiled rasam.
- Add coriander leaves and serve.
